The Nature Reserve Serra das Almas has two visitors service structures:

A visitor center in the Reserve Headquarters, with accommodation for 20 persons, kitchen, dining room, ecodemia (outdoor gym), hiking and living area. This space is ideal for adventurers and nature lovers who want to experience life in an isolated reserve, walks in three nature trails (trail of monkeys, lajeiro track and trail of traps), bird watching and various spaces for direct contact with the nature.

The other structure is the Samuel Johnson Ecological Center which has an auditorium with capacity for 30 people, accommodation for 22 persons, kitchen, dining room, and a seedling nursery with capacity for 100,000 seedlings / year. Ideal for school visits, has a trail of 11 km connecting the CDA to the headquarters of the reservation, as well as Hill Trail and Trail Dam.


The Caatinga Association was established in Fortaleza in October 1998 with the support of the Fund for Conservation of Caatinga , established by Samuel Johnson for the protection of carnauba . It is a non - governmental, non-profit , recognized as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) and registered with the National Registry of Environmental Entities (CNEA) .
